Yönetim Esasları - I analysis (word) Survey of Knowledge Management İ lyas Köse 02020611 2007INTRODUCTION 1. Turkey ’ s economy has progressed after lots of crises. Especially industry of textile became stronger in spite of the economic crisis of 1999. This crisis was being a revolution for textile according to Kemal Baykan who is a manager of a textile company. Importance of trademark was understood and we started to produce for big companies. “ We get into debt to crisis for producing shoes for Nike. ” said Gel Alp Shoes ’ owner ’ s son. It was the first step for textile but not enough yet. For developing, we looked western countries. Which methods do they use? Main principle was body power in last century, but it is changing gradually: Mental power is more important today. In developed countries, companies give importance for knowledge. V.J. Beveren says: “ From now on, if you want to vie against your rivals, you have to be different from them; this can be only by creating new ideas ” . (1) According to a resource, 4/5 of successful companies- in USA, Europe and Japan- support new ideas and projects. Also all of them separate very big budgets for workings of knowledge. (2) Companies give these budgets to departments of researching and developing. But the company can ’ t hold responsible only a group of people for creating new ideas, all parts of company, all workers and managers, have to contribute to studying. Thanks to this resource, we can answer the questions of “ Do our companies give importance to knowledge, trademark, and technology enough? ” , “ ? ” Because of having reliable information, companies are chosen for according to size and time of being on textile industry. Two per three of them are work on export; they work international. They are chosen because the more company is improved, the more it considers knowledge. (2) www.mckinseyquarterly.com 2METHODOLOGY 2. The biggest problem for a pollster is finding the person spoken to survey. Usually, securities don ’ t give you let to enter the company. If you achieve to enter, you can ’ t pass over the secretary. They want you to give survey them and they give you a date. When you go to company for taking survey, you are disappointed because they forgot to answer your survey. When I went to company for research, securities didn ’ t let me to enter. They took the papers and gave me a date. I was hopeless about papers but papers are filled by a top manager. I heard that LCW ’ s manager ’ s son is studying in our university. I searched and find a friend who knows him. He gave survey his for me. I finished the project in this way. I went to fifteen companies and eleven of them accept me. Others said: “ We can ’ t sign yours papers, we can ’ t trust you ” or “ We don ’ t want to give information about our company ” 3ANALYSIS 3.
